Implantation

An implant is an artificial root containing of biocompatible material. The surgery takes place under local anesthesia. Generally the material is crafted into the tissue where it connects to the jaw bone. On this artificial tooth pillar a crown, a bridge or a protease can be fastened. The advantage of the procedure over the ordinarily denture is the stable fitting and natural feel. Also, healthy teeth do not need to be filed in order to give hold to the dentures. This avoids the bone decrease of the jaw in the toothless areas. Removable dentures can be avoided as well. This procedure also allows fastening prosthetic in completely toothless jaws.
